STREET TEENS Endorsed BY GIORDANO WORLD ENTERTAINMENT and Jeff Timmons the founder of the multiplatinum recording group 98 Degrees and am now a solo recording artist.. Throughout my 14 year tenure in the entertainment industry, I've been fortunate to become involved with numerous charitable foundations and organizations ranging from the Elizabeth Glazier Pediatric AIDS Foundation, St. Jude Children's Hospital, to Toys for Tots and various others. After I was made aware of The Street Teens organization, I fell in love with the concept. I feel strongly about donating my time or efforts to such a great cause. In the past, I've been a motivational speaker for young people in colleges and high schools across the nation. I would love to make a difference in any way I can, whether it be through speaking to the kids or donating my time. I was introduced to Street Teens by a dear friend of mine, Mr. Angelo Giordano who has an extraordinary story of his own. The fact that Angelo overcame the obstacles and averse situations in his younger years to become such an amazing human being and success story is quite inspiring to me. Hi Angelo, We met tonight at the Tempo Lounge, Flamingo Hilton. You were right when you said that putting Earl and Lani together was magic. I enjoyed that show more than most I have viewed in over 25 years in Las Vegas. The energy from the stage SIZZLED in the Shimmer Theatre. I haven't rocked like that since I was ... well... let us say gently .. since a long time ago. You should be very proud of your star cast. The band/symphony back up included. I extend a sincere compliment to all involved. I felt ALIVE watching the show. Thank you ALL for your creative efforts. Best regards, Christine McKellar P.S. I LOVE good music. I loved how the show crossed so many genres. Lani's opera singing was as good as any I have ever heard. Earl's SOULFUL voice and rhythm is infectious to say the least. What a perfect blend of music, melody, and humor. I'm not a music critic. But I know what makes me feel good down to my toes. And Voices certainly took care of that!

From: Militante, Shiela Sent: Monday, May 04, 2009 10:12 AM To: Encore Concierge; Wynn Concierge Subject: "Voices" starring Earl Turner & Lani Misalucha Good morning everyone, I would like to share my experience watching “Voices” starring Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha at the LV Hilton. It was a fantastic show! They perform duets and solo numbers with a very talented live band. Earl Turner sings a variety of genre music including Motown and famous classics. His dance moves makes the audience get up on their feet. Lani Misalucha captivates the audience with her grace, charm, and vocal skills (three octave ranges!). They constantly interact with their audience in this intimate showroom which makes it very personable. Overall, their dynamics on stage are so gravitating and enthralling. Their chemistry blends so well which results to a fun-filled, entertaining, & humorous show. If you’re looking for a show to recommend where the audience leaves the theatre dancing, singing, and feeling good, ”Voices” is an excellent option. If we have guests who are looking for a smaller production show which offers quality entertainment from beginning to end, in my opinion, “Voices” is highly recommended.

-------- Original Message -------- Subject: house seats: Voices Surveys APRIL 2009 From: bryce@houseseatslv.com Date: Fri, May 08, 2009 2:58 pm To: michael@planquicklv.com Cc: robyn@planquicklv.com, nertad@houseseatslv.com Hey guys! Thanks SO much for including me & Rashida last night at the show. It was truly a fun night. And, interesting and fabulous comments have come back from our April house seats members. Share with the show indeed! Let me know if you'd like us to forward to Rick White, as we usually send him all LV Hilton show surveys, too. Thought you might want to see them first! Although, my personal fave comment: "There's three people I pay to go see: Clint Holmes, Mark Giovi, and now Earl Turner. He is just phenomenal. It usually takes three drinks to get me to dance in public (or a really strong Long Island Iced Tea) and he managed to do it with me sober. There are not enough great things I can say about this show. I will be going to as many of his shows as I can, it was just stupendous." Over 57% said they heard about Voice thru house seats over 92% said they would recommend the show to others over 92% rated the show either good, or great one of the best they've seen! Not bad kids! Keep up the great work. Again, thank you for last night. bryce :) & the house seats team -- bryce krausman co-founder, house seats las vegas www.houseseats.com

04/29/09 Of all the shows we've seen, and you certainly have sent us fabulous offers, Earl & Lani tore the house down with multiple standing ovations....Open seating gave us the opportunity to sit on top of the stage..... Lani has always been a favorite from Society of Seven...Her voice range was beyond belief including opera. As for Earl Turner, he sings, dances and is multi talented... I've found that there are performers and there are performers. These two paired up left us on such a high... There was a meet and greet after the show.........Two people as warm as they were talented.. I'd recommend this show to anyone that would listen.. Thanks House Seats for all the fine shows...And a special thanks for 'Voices'....This was the icing on the cake

We've gone to Earl Turner shows for last 10 years & have loved everyone of them. Never seen Lani before but she is a real talent. Great combination. Earl has so much energy & a great voice & Lani has a beautiful voice. Certainly one of the best shows in town if not the very best in town.

I attended the 04/29/09 show. I don't think I will be able to find the words to tell you just how impressed I was. I had seen Earl perform about 3 years ago at Palace Station. He has not missed a beat; his never-ending energy is like the energizer rabbit. He is still just as handsome as ever and sounds great. He continues to be the top main showroom male singer in this fabulous city of ours in my book. We need more 'old school' like Earl. It is nice to see him back after a brief absence. I was shocked when he came over to my chair and sang one of my favorite songs 'Leave Your Hat On' and put his hat on my head. He always takes the time to say hello to the fans after the show and recognizes many familiar faces. Lani surprised me with her powerful voice and to sing opera? Wow. She is a beautiful and personable lady as well!! They are two very different performers, but blend well in duets, and also shine solo. I hope this show will run for a very long time.

04/23/09 - Second night of this opening dynamic duo and it was fantastic! I loved how each performer sang separately and also did duets. They carried a lot of energy throughout the entire show. I laughed, I cried, I clapped & sang along... it was terrific! I brought my mom to the show and she also loved it!

"VOICES" starring Earl Turner & Lani Misalucha: Lani Misalucha , "BEST VOICE OF 2008" and Earl Turner, world famous singing sensation, perform together and solo in the new "Voices," a vocal explosion of energy in the exciting Shimmer Showroom at the Las Vegas Hilton. These incredible singing talents are backed by some of the best live musicians in the industry. The evening is a mix of octaves, tempos and beats all wrapped in with a little comedy, some fancy footsteps and a few surprises.

Hey Angelo & Christine, First of all Hello, hope this finds you both well. Congratulations on a great review on Your show "VOICES" in todays NEON. Even more impressive is that it was written by Mike Weatherford....He generally doesn't give out anything better than a C for shows that are independent (4 walled) of the actual Casino...hes a tough nut. give my congrats to John as well Looking forward to getting going with our show. take care!

HOW NICE IT IS TO HAVE FRIENDS My cell phone rang a few days before the Ian/Goldmine interview and it was my good friend, Jay DePland. We all call him “Jay-bird” and it was so good to hear from him. Now, Jay is a throwback to that kind of person who is a master of many talents. I’ve known Jay for over 30 years and he amazes me still because of his abilities like, he is a certified wide-body airline pilot and instructor. He works out of the old Pan Am building here in Vegas and last year, he arranged for me to enter a flight simulator. I brought along one of my grandkids and they let us take the controls. That kid is still talking about that day and for that matter, so am I. It was awesome. Jay-bird is also one of the most respected horse trainers in Vegas and maybe, the whole country. And that isn’t all, he was an FBI agent for many years and if that weren’t enough, he is one incredible drummer who worked with some of the jazz greats, Arthur Prysock, Lou Rawls, to name a few - a real “man for all seasons”. Jay-bird asked me would I like to join Kenny Bates, Evil Kinevel’s manager for 20 years, and him to go see Earl Turner and a wonderful lady singer I admire a lot named, Lani Misalucha. These two classic vocalists have to be one of Las Vegas’ best kept secrets. Earl is a singer’s singer, ultimate performer and showman extraordinaire. I was so into their show that before I knew it, I found myself onstage. Yes, they invited me up but it still caught me off-guard. I am very respectful of stage performers and I don’t like to step on the stage apron unless invited. It was the close of their show and MJ was naturally on everyone’s minds and lips. We did our tribute to Michael. It was a blast and we sang “I’ll Be There”. It must have gone over big because one of the best columnists in the country, Norm Clarke, who writes “Norm – Vegas Confidential” ran the following item: “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoree Little Anthony (Jerome Anthony Gourdine) of Little Anthony and The Imperials joined Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha onstage Friday in their “Voices” show at the Hilton during a tribute to Michael Jackson. They sang, “I’ll Be There”. Norm, on behalf of Earl, Lani and myself, I wish to thank you for that Sunday item in your Review-Journal column. You can add Norm’s column item to all those wonderful interviews I mentioned earlier. Man, I am so appreciative and I understand it helped Earl and Lani’s ticket sales too. I am just learning about the power of a column item and Norm Clarke is one of the best. Thanks again Norm and one good column (item) deserves another. It is my way of thanking you and I hope you can come to the Cannery on 7/11th. In closing, I have to admit, I am a secret admirer of Lani Misalucha’s and hopefully, we’ll be able to record a duet some day soon. We could make beautiful music together.
Little Anthony

Angelo, My wife and I attended Voices for the second time. What an improvement!...Lani is so versatile, strong and sincere that we felt like we spent the evening with a super talented friend. She captivated the room for the whole show and the crowd wouldn't let go. Any interruption of her magic would have lessened what I felt was a show that features the best singer I have ever listened to. Why Lani hasn't broken into the Superstar class baffles me! All the best to Lani,
Bill J

August 7, 2009 RE: Voices-August 3, 2009 Dear Angelo, Valerie and I both wanted to reaffirm our comments made to you last Tuesday after the Voices show as to how we were both blown away by the incredible showmanship and talent of Lani and Earl. As mentioned we are in Vegas six or seven times per year and always attend numerous shows. This past trip was primarily scheduled to see Rod Stewart and find a few other shows to enjoy as well. Voices was a fill-in for our Tuesday night as our original plans had been canceled. Wow, are we lucky that happened! Without the cancellation we would not have experienced the "Best Show in Vegas." Rod Stewart was surely upstaged by Lani and Earl. We had seen Earl several times in New Orleans and had even spent some time with him on some business related matters. He has always been a great showman and a terrific singer. We miss him here as he really filled a void in our city as the premier showman based in New Orleans. Lani I knew nothing about other than her association with the Society of Seven. A show we unfortunately never saw. Angelo, your putting the two of them together is shear genius. Lani is absolutely phenomenal. I have never seen a better singer and performer. Valerie and I have seen most of the big names and Lani can hold her own with any of them. Earl has always been wonderful, but Lani brings out the best in him and the two of them together are absolutely incredible. They both should be truly grateful to you for your putting them together and producing the "Best Show in Vegas." Your show is the best on or off the strip. It would be worth the trip cross country just to see Voices. We sat there in awe of the phenomenal talent of both. What an evening, we were sorry to see it end! The fact that it was Lani's birthday added to the wonder of it all. It was such a pleasure meeting your wife Christine as well. It is truly a small world with her being from Biloxi, only a stone's throw away from us. We used to hang out at Beau Rivage until Katrina changed all of our lives. Now we go to Vegas and are blessed with entertainment like yours. We send all our best to you and yours and thank you again for making our evening so wonderful. Look to see you again Thanksgiving week. Best regards,
Edward R. Wicker, Sr.

"FRANK VINCENT" OFTEN IMITATED NEVER DUPLICATED 2009 NORTH AMERICA TOUR
This multi city tour will be traveling through North America Honoring The man of the hour Frank Vincent. Frank and the fellas will be meeting and greeting america with a new twist.. Actor, musician, comedian, writer, producer. Born in North Adams, Massachusetts of first generation Italian-Americans and raised in the Greenville section of Jersey City, New Jersey. Frank's father, an amateur actor introduced him to show business at an early age. Frank acted in school plays and studied music at St. Paul's grammar school. He played piano, trumpet and drums but soon his love for the drums took center stage. He spent his adolescence playing and traveling with various national championship drum and bugle corps. This passion evolved into playing in small combos at various nightclubs. He then met record producer Bill Ramal who became his musical mentor. In time he became a successful recording drummer for such prominent names as Don Costa, Paul Anka, Del Shannon, Trini Lopez and the Belmonts. He found himself playing 5-6 nights a week and recording 3-4 days a week. His insatiable desire for performing soon came to the fore and his drum playing became secondary. At this pace, he developed a stage personality and learned the meaning of comedic timing and discipline which would soon lend itself to his acting career. In 1975 Vincent made his feature film acting debut in Ralph DeVito's Death Collector. Martin Scorsese saw his work and cast him in the 1980 Academy Award nominated film of the decade, Raging Bull. From that point until the present day, Frank has appeared in numerous television shows, music videos and over fifty films. View Frank's Filmography. He has carved a niche that is his alone and has joined the great character actors in defining himself as a popular actor of talent and versatility. Frank has worked with some of the greatest directors of our time, notably Martin Scorsese, Brian DePalma, Spike Lee, John Sayles, Andrew Bergman and Sydney Lumet. He has acted with such greats as Robert DeNiro, Joe Pesci, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Richard Dreyfuss, Anthony Quinn, Sharon Stone, Adrien Brody and Sylvester Stallone among others. His voice is featured in the multi-million dollar PlayStation game Grand Theft Auto 3 as "Don Salvatore Leone" and in the soon to be released DreamWorks animated film A Shark Tale. In addition, his career has taken him from recording with great musical legends to working on music videos with such names as Bruce Hornsby, Hype Williams, Nas, DMX, Method Man and T-Boz. At the Hoboken Film Festival in the summer of 2002, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award presented by the Back East Picture Show. That same year he received the Italian American Entertainer of the Year Award presented by the Italian Tribune. In 2003, Frank's passion turned once again toward young and independent filmmakers. MOTION PICTURE, "ONE LONG DAY"
THE STORY You ever have one of those days? Follow Gruff as he has one of the longest days ever. It all starts when Tony Revario (the Boss of a prominent Las Vegas crime family) sends Vinnie and Rocco to find an accountant, that embezzled a lot of money from the Revario Crime Family. Vinnie and Rocco get the wrong apartment and the wrong guy. They end up in Gruff's apartment and make the biggest mistake of their lives when they kill Gruff's beloved pet Fluffy. When Gruff discovers his dead friend, all Hell breaks loose as he goes on the warpath to seek revenge. When the smoke clears and the dust settles, one thing will be remarkably clear... ...you never, EVER kill a man's dog. In early 2007 Keith Mosher, Director and creator, conceptualized the story of Love and Revenge, which was written by David Sean Greider We are proud to announce a deal recently signed with GIORDANO WORLD ENTERTAINMENT, LLC. to market and distribute ONE LONG DAY. Giordano World Entertainment is a powerful force in the Entertainment industry and will help launch our film and take it to the next level. Look for big things to happen in 2009 for our film. Recently I have been in talks with Giordano World Entertainment, and they are coming on board as the marketing and distribution team for One Long Day. This past Monday, we had a sexy shoot involving Logan James and a bubble bath, I won't go into details here, but it was very HOT on set that night! Giordano put us up in a penthouse suite, which was about 4 times bigger than my place. It was a good night of shooting, everything went smooth and we had a great time. STREET TEENS
Greetings! My name is Jeff Timmons. I'm the founder of the multiplatinum recording group 98 Degrees and am now a solo recording artist. I was raised in the midwest and brought up with strong family values. Although I was blessed a wonderful upbringing, I faced long odds of my own when choosing a career in the entertainment business. Being from a very small town, I was told that my dream of selling albums and touring the world was an impossibility. By possessing an enormous amount of self-confidence, faith in a higher power and total belief in myself, I was able to realize the one and a million dream. Because of this, I have a strong conviction that anyone can and accomplish anything. Sometimes people need to be reminded of this - especially young people. In closing, I would like to extend my time and efforts to those involved with Street Teens and make myself available for whatever is needed. If I can make a difference or inspire even one person, it will be well worth it. After all, that's what life is all about. Thank you for your time! Warmest regards, Jeff Timmons S.T.R.E.E.T. is an acronym for our approach to helping homeless and at-risk teens. Our teens moved into a high risk Street Life over a period of time and rarely by their own choice. It takes time, resources, commitment and a personalized step by step approach to help them move off the streets. Reunification with their families is always a goal, however, over 80% of our homeless teens were sexually and / or physically abused over a period of time before running away. These children do not have the option of returning to a "safe" home. Survival We provide immediate support to help them survive. Trust We build relationships based on mutual respect and trust. Resources We provide the resources they need. Education We provide education and opportunities to rebuild self-esteem. Empowerment We empower them to move forward. The Results They become effective members of their communities. Teen Angel – Holiday Gifts for Street Teens This holiday season, Street Teens is asking the community to "adopt" a teen and help bring some holiday spirit to the lives of young homeless people. Each Teen will create a wish list, including clothing sizes and gift ideas. You can help by purchasing WalMart or Target gift cards, mall gift certificates or by giving a cash donation which will be used to fill the wish lists of our teens. Please help to make a difference this Christmas by delivering your donation to Street Teens by Friday December 5th, 2008. Once we have collected all of the donations, Street Teens staff and volunteers will purchase the gifts for all of the teens. On December 23rd, we will distribute the gifts to the teens who would not otherwise be remembered during the holiday season. If you would like to adopt a Teen this Christmas, please contact Lisa Preston, Executive Director of Street Teens at 215-4171 or at Streetteens@Earthlink.net P.O Box 70478 Las Vegas, NV 89170 Jeff Timmons is known as the founding member of the internationally known, multi-platinum selling group 98 Degrees. He has gone solo, but also plans to perform with his beloved group again that brought such mega hits as "The Hardest Thing," "I Do," "Invisible Man," "Give Me Just One Night, Una Noche," "Because of You" and the number one hit with Mariah Carey "Thank God I Found You". They also collaborated with Stevie Wonder on a song called "True to Your Heart," for Disney's Mulan soundtrack. 98 Degrees' albums reached gold or platinum status in 15 countries around the world. After a stellar career with 98 Degrees, Jeff single-handedly wriote and produced his first solo album, released as a joint venture between his own company, Rising Phoenix Media, LLC and SLG Music. The album gave him a Top 20 hit on both the Billboard and Radio and Records charts with the lead off single "Whisper That Way," and was the most added single at radio every week leading up to its peak position. The album also produced 3 more chart topping singles worldwide. One early career highlight for Timmons included singing at the White House. "I've never been so nervous before a performance, as when we were to sing acappella for President Clinton. It was the first time we were doing 'Ave Maria' in public and it was live on TV for a White House Holiday Special." No need for anxiety - the group was invited back to sing for President Bush. Other highlights include hosting, appearing and performing on such shows as MTV's "TRL," "Beach House," "House of Style," "Video Music Awards," "American Music Awards," "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve," "The Tonight Show," and "The Teen Choice Awards" (for which he is the owner of their coveted award surf board). Timmons' group also received a Radio Music Award to go with the many platinum records on his wall. Timmons is currently working on his sophmore solo album which will debut in February 2009. He has also started a major record distribution company called iamMedia, INC. Look for iamMedia displays at checkout stands in grocery and convenience stores throughout the nation starting in February 2009 as well! www.myspace.com/jefftimmons www.jefftimmons.com ©Giordano World Entertainment, LLC

Annual Heart of the King Elvis Fan’s Festival and Convention, especially on Elvis’ 40th anniversary at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Mr. Rick White Vice President Brand Marketing and Entertainment Las Vegas Hilton Rick, At the request of, and in conjunction with, John Stuart and Angelo and Christine Giordano, I am writing to let you know we have all become very excited over the prospect of holding an annual Heart of the King Elvis Fan’s Festival and Convention, especially on Elvis’ 40th anniversary at the Las Vegas Hilton. The property is arguably one of the most historic locations in the career of Elvis Presley proceeded only by Memphis and Tupelo. As a courtesy, I have been in contact with Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) and their parent company CKX and even though it is not necessary or a legal obligation to include them on this type of event, we already feel very comfortable that they approve of our plans for the yearly event. I have also begun seeking the availability of several people who have lived, worked and been a part of the career of Elvis Presley many of which shared the Hilton stage with Elvis such as The Sweet Inspirations, The Imperials Quartet, Joe Guercio and Joe Esposito. As I am certain you are aware, 40 years ago this July, Elvis’ opening at the Hilton was the subject of the documentary film, concert and live album “Elvis, That’s the Way It Is”. One of the highlights of the convention and festival will be to recreate that concert. We intend to promote this to Elvis Presley fan clubs and Elvis fans worldwide, as well as to the travel agencies as a historic event. This event will finally give fans who were never able to attend his concerts at the Hilton an opportunity to experience what it may have felt like to be there live. Other highlights of the festival and convention may include: A large scale Elvis Tribute Artist Competition and concert with major cash prizes An Elvis Film Festival with co- stars and directors from his films An Elvis Insiders Conference with longtime friends and co-workers of Elvis answering fans questions Elvis memorabilia and EPE licensed merchandise Possible Tours of Elvis’ suite and dressing rooms A screening of the movie “Heart of the King” The contacts I have in the Elvis world combined with John Stuart’s expertise in events and promotions in Las Vegas along with the historic significance and cooperation from your hotel can truly make this a much-anticipated yearly event much larger than any of us may expect for Elvis fans throughout the world. I look forward to working closely with you John, Angelo and Christine to ensure the immediate and future success of this event. Sincerely, Daniel A. Lentino Sr. The following is a little bit of background information on my involvement with the Elvis Tribute phenomenon. In the early 70’s I formed a Rock N Roll revival band that became very successful in the Chicago area. In 1972, the first time I saw Elvis perform live, we saw a kid at a local boys club carnival that looked just like Elvis. We put him on stage with us the very next night and the audience went crazy. His name was Rick Saucedo. I became his manager and 5 years later, just after Elvis passed away I brought him to Broadway where I co-produced and directed the show ‘Elvis the Legend Lives’ which ran at the famous Palace Theater in NY for 16 weeks. We incorporated Elvis’ own backup singers the legendary Jordanaires in the show as well as some of Elvis’ own musicians like drummer DJ Fontana. The show toured the US and Canada for a number of years which included a successful run at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. Following that show I produced and directed a series of successful tours. The Elvis Memorial Concert Tour and for several years and currently, I co-produce and direct the highly successful Elvis Birthday Tribute Tour each January. I have had a 30-year friendship and business association with The Jordanaires, DJ Fontana and Scotty Moore. That is longer than they knew or worked with Elvis. In recent years I have formed close friendships and business relationships with Joe Esposito Elvis’ right hand man, road manger, army buddy, roommate and best man at his wedding. He is undisputedly the man who was closest to Elvis. I work regularly with The Sweet Inspirations, the female back up singers for Elvis from his Las Vegas show through all of his concert performances until the time of his death as well as the Imperials, the Stamps, Joe Guercio and George Kline. I recently took the Elvis show to South America and Europe where the response was unbelievable exposing these legends who lived and worked with Elvis to new markets. I have produced 5 Elvis related tribute albums and have participated in, been consulted on or been listed in numerous Elvis related tribute books. I also consulted on numerous TV segments including the Elvis segment on Oprah Winfrey and was asked to review the CBS TV movie ‘Elvis’. I also work with a network of 120 Elvis fan clubs, EPE and CKX. Currently I direct and consultant on several of the largest Elvis Fests in the world. I began, managed and nurtured the careers of the worlds most successful Elvis Tribute Artists. Rick Saucedo (the Prince of Rock and Roll) Trent Carlini (The Dream King) Ryan Pelton (the Face of Elvis) Donny Edwards (the next best thing) and Justin Shandor (the Teen King). I also act as an agent and advisor for several others. I currently manage Shawn Klush (Elvis Presley Enterprises ‘Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist’ and in Europe, BBC1 Televisions “World’s Greatest Elvis”) (the Closest Thing to the King in Concert) I am ready to assist you in any way I can with this production as long as it maintains the utmost integrity. Sincerely, Dan Lentino

VOICES
"Voices" hits all the right notes April 27, 6:48 PM · Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha When Earl Turner takes the stage at the Shimmer Showroom inside the Las Vegas Hilton behind a montage of some of the greatest singers to ever grace Las Vegas, he acts like he belongs right there with them. And after three heart-pounding numbers where he works every inch of the stage (and the first few rows of tables), the audience is compelled to agree with him. Giordano Entertainment’s new show “Voices” is billed as a duet, with Lani Misalucha balancing Turner’s act. When Turner first yields the stage, there is a noticeable energy void left behind. Misalucha is solid, yet unspectacular in her first few numbers. That shifts dramatically when she launches into an angelic aria. Suddenly, the counterbalance to Turner’s infectious, soulful energy is matched by the rich, beautiful tones of Misalucha’s legit three-octave range. More than a few tears were shed as Misalucha received the first of the nights several standing ovations. The night continues with an enjoyable mixture of duets and solos, including Turner’s show-stopping, gospel rendition of Bill Withers “Grandma’s Hands” and Misalucha’s comedic parodies of Britney Spears, Tina Turner and Celine Dion. The only number that rung slightly false was the tribute to the the 2008 Tony Award-winning Broadway Musical, “In the Heights”. It was neither “off” nor “bad” , per se, but against the much more tightly woven tapestry of songs preceding it, seemed to be out of place. At the end of the show, the crowd was on it’s feet dancing and clapping to the Earth, Wind and Fire classic, “September” as Turner and Misalucha worked the crowd one last time. Turner and Misalucha earned the standing ovation and, if they can put in that kind of energy nightly, should continue to do so for years to come. More info: Time/Days: 7:00 pm (dark Sundays), Doors at 6:15 pm 80 minute run time Age restrictions: Ages 5 and up (under 18 must be accompanied by adult) Ticket Prices: $49.95 + Tax and service fee - general admission seating $79.95 + Tax and service fee - Includes dinner at Benihana inside LV Hilton of Line Pass Public Show Information: (702) 732-5755

VOICES - @ Las Vegas Hilton
Star-crossed Turner gives Vegas one more shot at the Hilton’s Shimmer Showroom SUN FILE PHOTO Earl Turner, shown during his days at The Rio’s RioBamba Cabaret. By John Katsilometes · April 24, 2009 · 6:35 PM For years Earl Turner has been one of my favorite Vegas performers, except that he has this finicky practice of not performing in Vegas. But Turner is back, in the new show “Voices,” with former Society of Seven vocalist Lani Misalucha, at the Las Vegas Hilton’s Shimmer Cabaret. The show opened Wednesday and is staged nightly (dark Sundays) at 7 p.m. I’m glad to see the gifted but often star-crossed Turner back onstage in Vegas. I’ve not seen a performer work harder than Turner, who is often soaked in sweat after two numbers and, to borrow a tennis term, leaves nothing on the court. That’s no backhanded compliment. He’s an ace. He works to the hotel’s advantage. He plays a great set and is happy to serve, and I’m now finished with the tennis references. The first time I saw Turner was about 10 years ago at The Rio’s RioBamba Cabaret, which was actually a color-splashed, Brazilian-themed lounge that has since been overtaken by the bar at the casino’s sports book. The crowd of Turnerites had overtaken the lounge and much of the casino floor outside the entrance, with couples doubling up on chairs at video poker machines just to get a glimpse of Turner’s powerhouse R&B performance. For a time one of the city’s top free acts, Turner then moved across the casino to a ticketed show in what would become the Scintas Theatre. It seemed he was destined to work as one of The Rio’s long-term headliners until the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, effectively doused his audience numbers. He never recovered, or never had time to, from the subsequent tourism slump and moved on to Laughlin, and finally to New Orleans, his home base where he was the tireless inhabitant of the Earl Turner Theatre. But again, tragedy derailed a good gig for Turner, as Hurricane Katrina whipped through New Orleans and effectively shut down the entire city. The timing of the hurricane could not have been worse, slamming the region on Aug. 29, 2005, Turner’s 51st birthday. Turner has since appeared sporadically in Vegas. There was the doomed booking at Palace Station’s Sound Trax lounge (now the Bonkerz Comedy Club). Turner’s fans are loyal, but even they couldn’t seem to find him tucked away in the corner of Palace Station. Turner also portrayed Clint Holmes’ father in Holmes’ autobiographical play, “JAM,” during its run at UNLV’s Judy Bayley Theatre, though Turner is actually years younger than Holmes. At the Hilton, Turner promises “some of the best live musicians in the industry,” and a show that is “a mix of octaves, tempos and beats all wrapped in with a little comedy, some fancy footsteps and a few surprises.” Turner is fighting against an unfriendly economic climate, but so what? He’s seen worse.

VOICES - @ Las Vegas Hilton
Review of "VOICES" starring Earl Turner & Lani Misalucha: Earl and Lani wanted all of us in the audience last night to tell all our friends, and in my case my frienemies above who are enjoying this thread, that we had a great time and to go see the show; normally, I wouldn't react to a request like that, but I have to tell you, this is one of the most entertaining and high-energy shows I've ever seen in Las Vegas and I hope you do go and support this show. The 2 voices were pitch perfect, and had the range and then some to cover the great soul era of James Brown, the rock of people like Jimmy Hendrix, the pop sounds of Tina and Britney, and a little gospel (Grandma's Hands) and opera (Nessum Dorma) and Broadway (The Heights) to boot. Earl was inspired by the likes of James Brown, but unlike James, you can understand what Earl is singing. Lani was inspired to be a singer by the great girl groups of her day, but she was pushed by her parents heavily into the classics. These 2 extraordinary singers, and I do not use the word extraordinary lightly, put on a non-stop show of singing, soul-shaking dancing, playing (Earl played a couple of different guitars), and comedy, and worked so hard to keep us entertained, yelling, screaming, and on our feet, that we were sweating almost as much as Earl was. We saw Mr. Turner in a show he headlined here in Vegas over 10 years ago, and one of the most memorable parts of that show was his ability to make eye contact with every audience member in the show and get out into the audience and literally shake every hand all the way back to back of the room (this is his signature move), and he did not disappoint in that regard last night either. The 6 musicians that backed these 2 were some of the best I've seen in the approximately 100 shows that I've seen in Las Vegas in the last 18 months, and Mr. Turner and Ms. Misalucha (she's Hawaiin) did not seem to have their egos threatened one bit by the rather personable group of players who had their moments in the spotlight. The Shimmer showroom is not very big, so you do feel close to the action. I do not have a single negative criticism of the show and my overall impression of what I saw was that it was OFF THE CHAIN!!! Las vegas Review Journal

'Voices' of performers speak for themselves in old-school show
'Voices' of performers speak for themselves in old-school show By Mike Weatherford LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL There ought to be a law: Las Vegas always should have at least one show like this one, which is the way most of them used to be. Audiences might not realize they miss a show like "Voices," which is all about personality instead of stagecraft, and entertainers getting down on their knees (literally) to earn your applause. With Clint Holmes, The Scintas and Society of Seven no longer in permanent residence, the torch now passes to old-school showman Earl Turner and Lani Misalucha, who had a pop career in the Philippines before working on the Strip with Society of Seven. It's not asking much. Just let these two talents get up there and sing as themselves, dressing nice without doing costumed impersonations, fronting a live band in the Las Vegas Hilton's cozy Shimmer Cabaret. But we already overlegislate in this country, so the law of supply and demand will have to suffice. It asks a lot of people to invest in these semiobscure names, but producers Angelo Giordano and John Stuart have a good plan. As Turner announces from the stage, if you bring back a paying customer within 30 days, you can see the show again free. Never mind that the promotion sounds tricky to administer; the logic is sound. Only trusted friends can explain why we should care about Turner doing Leo Sayer's "When I Need You" -- the on-his-knees song -- like he was James Brown at the Apollo. That was the magic of the old school. The excitement they generated by working the room often outweighed the public-domain material. Here, it's Turner taking on soul classics such as "Hold On! I'm A Comin' " or Misalucha's slightly less-universal diva pop of the Whitney Houston school. Only Sinatra -- maybe Dino, too -- could get away with making it look easy. The Vegas ethic is to make sure everyone knows you're working hard. Let the audience see you sweat. But when Turner makes one exception to this rule, for Michael Buble's "Feeling Good," the effect is stunning. As she did with Society of Seven, Misalucha offers the nightly showstopper of the Puccini aria "Nessun Dorma," the out-of-place lounge atmosphere only bringing more marvel to the unfiltered beauty of her voice. Turner's voice sits tightly on top of the six-piece band, which asserts itself with a two-piece horn section. Misalucha's multioctave voice is harder for both the band and people in the sound booth to follow. Her voice is in the realm of Celine Dion, and like Dion, she has a hard time powering down for a nice-and-easy standard such as "Orange Colored Sky" without sounding at odds with the arrangement. Since both singers do have their established followings, the only real mystery was how they would fit together. Quite well, it turns out, making "Voices" something new for those who have seen them separately. Turner is teasing yet protective when Misalucha does her imitations of Dion and Tina Turner. "I used to work alone. Now I've learned to say 'Yes dear' onstage," he jokes. And they knuckle down for a challenging showcase of tunes from the new Broadway musical "The Heights." It's a welcome contrast to familiar crowdpleasers such as Earth, Wind & Fire's "September" or the Phil Collins pablum "Separate Lives." "So much music, so little time," Turner says near the end of a show that takes every last second of the allowed 90 minutes, before the room must be cleared for "Sin City Bad Girls." These two clearly don't want to go home. And neither will the audience, no matter how tough a sell it was to get them in there.
